People with assets can benefit from having a Last Will and Testament including those with children, those without children, those that are married and those that are not married. Even those without assets can benefit from having a Last Will and Testament because it allows a person to name a Guardian for their minor children. 

No, in the State of New York a Health Care Proxy document must be a separate document from a Power of Attorney document.
